Sierpe Mangroves Tour

The mangroves of Sierpe-Terraraba constitute the most extensive and well-maintained mangrove area in Central America. This extensive tropical mangrove sanctuary covers an area of 25,000 hectares. The dense and impenetrable mangrove forests are home to hundreds of species of flora and fauna. Many species of animals are endemic, which means that they only live in the mangrove, as species of birds, reptiles, insects, molluscs and crabs, as well as fish species. The landscape offered by the mangrove is mysterious and truly unique. It is an extensive, dense and unexplored, impenetrable area, which is crisscrossed by hundreds of channels and labyrinths of canals and waterways.

The purpose of the Tour is to explore this incredible habitat with the naturalist guide. The tour is carried out by boat, the only option to discover the region, since you can not walk in the mangroves. We will go in search of bats, the green arboreal boa, birds, reptiles in general, perhaps crocodiles and turtles, sloth bears and perhaps also 4 species of monkeys, including the famous Skull Monkey. The tour lasts a total of approximately 4 hours. The tour includes guide and boat.
