Birds in Corcovado Costa Rica

In Corcovado and the buffer zones there is an incredible variety of birds. Some of the most threatened species live in the extensive jungles of Corcovado. Some birds can even be seen from each of the hotels we use on our tours, while others are seen during the tours we do. For bird lovers, there are also bird watching tours, which are mainly focused on finding colorful birds and species that are difficult to see in other areas.

Some species that are appreciated in Corcovado are the Scarlet Macaw, tanagers, hummingbirds, macaws, toucans, manakins, hawks, robins, flycatchers, honeycreepers, trogons, and woodpeckers. The best hours to see birds are early in the morning (5:30 to 8:30) or in the afternoon. There are also birds that are more active at night.
