The small village of Sierpe is a tiny community located on the mighty Sierpe River, one of the largest rivers in Costa Rica and main transportation route connecting the mainland and the villages of Drake Bay, Guerra, and other communities located on the coast in the Osa Peninsula. Sierpe is a legendary village, it has been part of the iconic and romantic history of the wild South Pacific Region of Costa Rica.

The main importance of Sierpe is as a communications gateway. All the clients traveling to Drake Bay and Osa, of not flying to the local Drake Bay Airstrip, go through Sierpe. There are public boats ( water taxes ) departing from Sierpe at 11 AM and another schedule at 3 PM. Other facilities found in Sierpe are parking lots ( for those traveling to the area in Rental Car ); river front restaurants and bars that offer great food, local tour companies that offer trips in the area ( Mangrove Tours or Fishing ). You can also find the basic public service, such as police, emergency clinic service and a couple of small supermarkets.
