When to visit and not visit Corcovado

The ideal months to travel

Corcovado is located in the Osa Peninsula, one of the rainiest areas of the country. During the rainy season, it may rain torrentially. This happens especially during the months of October to November. The rest of the rainy season, which runs from May to September, the climate in the park is ideal. In fact, July, August and September are the best months to visit the park, because in addition to the beautiful weather, it is when the humpback whales come to the area. During October, the National Park and Isla del Caño are closed to the public, because in addition to heavy rains, the Ministry of the Environment makes arrangements in the facilities and trails. The rest of the year, the dry season, from December to April, the weather and the circumstances to visit Corcovado are perfect.
