The Caño Island is located off the coast of Corcovado National Park in the Osa Peninsula. The small island is protected by law, and its entire land portion is covered by tropical rainforest.

Cano Island

Visiting the Caño Island is one of the most popular day trips that clients book through us in advance, along with the guided Corcovado Park hike. Although it can be booked on site, we recommend to book it in advance, since entrance number is limited.


The center of the island is home to an ancient indigenous cemetery, where some amazing stone spheres were found when first discovered, The stone spheres are particular to this part of the country.


Caño Island is among the best scuba diving and snorkeling sites in Costa Rica, with great visibility and abundant marine wildlife all year round. The amazing variety of rays, fish, coral and other marine creatures is vast.
