Los Patos is the only Corcovado Park Ranger Stations located away from the ocean. It connects to Sirena in a 10 – 12 hour long hike through the Corcovado National Park. Also, it offers some own trails. Even the access to the park ranger station is exciting and interesting, since clients drive, walk or go on horseback from Rincon, crossing the Rio Rincon in several parts which is an adventure by its own.
Los Patos is the only ranger station located inland.
The only way to get there by car ( land ) is from Rincon de Osa, to La Palma, and once in La Palma, clients need to continue to La Florida, a small village. There, you can spend a night at one of the three local lodges and go to the park ranger station the same day or the day after. Another way of reaching it is hiking from Sirena in a 10 hour hike.
Los Patos is the least visited park ranger station. However, the iconic hike from Los Patos to Sirena is one of the favorite for clients interested in remote hikes, strong trekking trips and abundant nature. During the hike you might encounter amazing wildlife species.
